Michigan makes news, again
In news that is unlikely to have a profound affect on the presidential race, a federal judge ruled today that Michigan's law that placed the primary on January 15th was unconstitutional. The issue at hand was this 2007 law's stipulation that the Election Day's voting lists containing the party preferences of voters (i.e. whether they chose a Democratic or a Republican ballot) would be sent to the state's Democratic and Republican parties. Smaller parties, helped by the ACLU, protested that this was a violation of their rights, and that if they were not going to be given the records as well the Democratic and Republican parties should not get them either.
This issue had been on the table for quite some time now, and some people had speculated (and Clintonites had hoped) that Judge Edmunds could rule that a re-vote is necessary with a proper law as a remedy for the unconstitutional law that set up the January 15th primary. But Edmunds did no such thing: The fact that the primary law (and thus the January 15th primary) is unconstitutional does not mean that there will be a re-vote. In fact, considering that the Michigan legislature adjourned last week without being able to pass a law setting up a do-over, a re-vote is as unlikely as ever.
Two small consequences, however, out of this decision, beyond the very important fact that the judge did not order a revote (a victory for Obama). First, whatever chance there was that the DNC recognize delegates based on the January 15th vote is now almost inexistent. In finding some sort of resolution to the Michigan delegate crisis, the DNC will now be even less sympathetic to pleas from the Michigan Democratic Party since the contest that was held that the state's Democrats want to see counted has now been pretty much invalidated.
Second, Hillary Clinton can hope to use the ruling to bring up the issue of re-votes again. She failed to make this an important issue last week, despite the fact that there is a coherent argument to be made that the Obama campaign blocked new primaries from taking place. Now, she has another opportunity to try and find a way to push for a new vote to happen somehow, boosted by the argument that Michigan has been found to not have held a valid primary at all at this point. The Clinton campaign already reacted to this news via email: "In the wake of today's court ruling regarding Michigan’s January 15th primary, we urge Senator Obama to join our call for a party-run primary and demonstrate his commitment to counting Michigan's votes."

Clinton should have been far ahead even without MI and FL - she was the inevitable candidate (her campaign pushed this message).
Her campaign say that every state shoul dget to vote, but they were ready to shut down the process on Super Tuesday is she had won sufficient delegates (Obama won more that day). Also most of the remaining states are GOP leaning so according to earlier arguments from her they do not count (Obama won Idaho etc and don`t count).
She should try to be consistent with her arguments rather than throw the kitchen sink and hope something sticks.
Or maybe go to Bosnia and see real snipers!!

blah blah blah kitchen sink blah blah blah
The most negative attacks are coming from obama, while he stands there mutely encouraging. Some inspiration!
He doesn't want a revote, he removed himself from the ballot, he doesn't give a flying fig about MI or what voters seem to want. Fortunately he's able to secrete some sort of earborne hallucinogen that obscures people's ability to reason, ask questions or think logically.
He's another Bush, he's equally a "uniter" and equally experienced (actually much much much less so). He would not have been here at all at this point had he not been a safe looking black guy. He's intelligent enough and with a few years of doing something other than voting "present" and heading committees and not doing a darn thing about it. Give him more time, everyone insisted on that from Hilary, why not equal standards for Obama?
Let go of the vitriol and the blindly repeating obama talking points, you sound like a bushie!
Let's have some discussion of substance if you please???

I think people in general do not understand politics. There were rules. They were violated. They were violated in the name of politics of recognition. The belief that whoever goes first is most important. There was a convention and EVERY state agreed to the four primary/caucuses to go first. Then at the last minute two states challenged that accord. That means they went against Majority decision.
To now go about and claim that Obama doesn't support recognizing Michigan or Florida is a farce. It needs to end. Obama could not campaign there because to do so would snub 48+ other primaries. It would encourage a flouting of Majority consensus. It would not be Democratic. Remember, Hillary did not care about Michigan and did not campaign there either. She just left her name on the ballot.
Obama does not resist a revote, he just resists a revote where Independents, who knew there vote would not count and would not join the Demoratic Caucus for the primary because it would not matter. Democrats who supported one of many candidates did not show up on all sides because the vote does not count. Republicans who have grown tired of the party did not switch becuase there primary was basically a waste of time did not vote. They would all be ignored in a new Primary. Which means it is tilted to uphold Clinton.
So come on. Change the rules to include everyone who wanted to vote for Obama but didn't go or voted anonymous, or wanted their vote to count and Obama was all for it. Stop twisting the facts.

Hillary's pastor believes they should control the world. Her Utica pastor is doing time for fondling a seven year old girl. Hannity's pastor said the lazy drunken unlawful poor of New Orleans had it coming to them when they died and suffered. Rezko gave Obama $260,000 over eight years. Hsu gave Clinton millions and Peter Paul over a million. Rezko is a piker compared to Hillary's dirty money. Her husband did not listen to military command, this president does not and Hillary after the Shinseki resignation gave Dubya his sword to play with. 4000 dead and 30,000 maimed Americans, over 100,000 Iraqi's dead and similar number maimed, it is apparent that the bus driven into the ditch killed many people who just happened to be there.

OBAMA'S UCC CHURCH WAS sent a letter of investigation by the IRS on 2/20/2008 DUE TO A SPEECH BY HIM IN JULY 2007,AND ALSO OTHER MATTERS CONCERNING THE HANDLNG OF THE SYNOD MEETING. IF THIS has been reconciled okay, otherwise this is a mattr to be delved into deeper for he is A Presidential candidate. HE SHOULD BE QUESTIONED ABOUT THIS.

The letter of investigation of the UCC is just stupid stuff. It's illegal for a church to be involved in politics, or they risk losing their tax-exempt status. Obama, as a member of the UCC congregation, spoke as a Christian, not a politician. He wasn't even running for office. Besides, the investigation is of the church, not Obama.
BIG SCANDALOUS ISSUE, HUH?
I'm a member of the UCC, which is overwhelmingly a white, mainstream, denomination. It's roots were The Congregational Church of England. It it very similar to Methodist and we cooperate on a lot of worthwhile ministries.
